The Death Valley R.O.C.K.S. (Recreation Outdoors Campaign for Kids though Study) Program brings classrooms of students from Los Angeles and Las Vegas areas to Death Valley National Park for a multi-day camping trip and interpretive learning experience. Kids that wouldn't normally be able to visit a national park enjoy a truly starry night sky and days of environmental education in Death Valley's natural "classroom." Park Rangers provide full-time support to these students including visits into their classrooms weeks before the visit to prepare for the trip.
The National Park Service and Death Valley Natural History Association co-sponsor these trips. Transportation and camping equipment are paid for by DVNHA. For information about the R.O.C.K.S. Program, download the
Death Valley R.O.C.K.S. Brochure.
The R.O.C.K.S. Program wouldn't be possible without the support of our members, The National Park Foundation, the Death Valley Fund, and the Death Valley 49ers . Thank you!
