Discover the Universe at Death Valley NP

Death Valley National Park is renowned for having some of the darkest night skies in the world. Far from urban light pollution, the stars shine here with unparalleled brilliance, offering visitors a profound connection to the cosmos. However, many of the best viewing locations are not easily accessible, which limits opportunities to fully experience this natural wonder. To address this, DVNHA is raising funds to plan and design an accessible dark sky viewing area. By transforming a vacant site, we aim to create a welcoming space where everyone can connect with the universe.

Why This Project Matters

Accessibility: Designed with inclusivity in mind, the site will feature accessible pathways and facilities to accommodate visitors of all abilities.

Educational Opportunities: The viewing area will serve as an outdoor “classroom,” with resources and programs that educate visitors about astronomy and the importance of dark sky conservation.

Preserving Dark Skies: Light pollution affects wildlife and limits our ability to see the stars. By creating a designated viewing area, we are helping to protect the natural darkness of Death Valley NP’s skies.
