Ranger programs run throughout the Winter when conditions allow. Summer programs are intermittently available. Check out the latest program schedule.

Badwater Talk

Visit an extreme part of the park and learn about the unique forces that create the lowest, hottest and driest place in North America. 

Sunset (or Sunrise) Dunes Hike

Join a ranger for a stroll at one of the best sunset and sunrise viewing locations in Death Valley. 

Golden Canyon Hike

Hike with a ranger through one of Death Valley’s most popular and beautiful canyons. Easy walk with one small scramble. Approximately 1 mile. Bring water, a hat and hiking shoes. 

Harmony Borax Talk

Learn about fascinating mining history in Death Valley. 20 mule team wagons, borax, fortunes and more! Easy 1/3 mile walk on a paved path. 

Night Sky Talk

Join a ranger to learn more about the incredible night sky in Death Valley! Optional items: red light to protect night vision, binoculars, chair. This program is intermittently available.

Evening Ranger Talk

Join a ranger in the Furnace Creek Auditorium for an evening presentation. Check the visitor center for topics. 

Family Program

Families with kids aged 4 to 12 meet a ranger in the Visitor Center courtyard to explore Death Valley’s wildlife, plants, history and more! Junior Rangers welcome. 

Full Moon Walk

Watch the moon rise and illuminate your way as you join a ranger on an easy night walk on the moonlit sand dunes. This program is only available when there is a full moon.

Through Your Lens Photography Walk

Bring any camera and join a ranger to explore composition techniques for photographing your adventures. All experience levels are welcome.
